Counted primary series Saturday classes are held once a month and dates are announced here.

Below is some info for anyone unfamiliar with how a counted class works…..

Primary Series led classes cover the Primary Series of ashtanga yoga in the traditional manner of counting out the sequence of postures breath by breath. Each posture is called by name and the vinyasa directed and counted out in sanskrit. This style of class has only a small amount of technical instruction offered, but for anyone less familiar with the primary series, it is easy enough to follow along. The count itself forms a pattern of moving through the practice and other people in the room more familiar with the postures and vinyasa make it easy to follow. Saturday’s class is open to anyone with some familiarity in ashtanga yoga. Anyone who may be new to this will be asked to sit and watch various sections of the class to in order to pace themselves throughout. This is a perfect opportunity to watch how the practice unfolds. For anyone familiar with primary series the counted class is a useful tool to help identify areas to work with in weekly Mysore style practice. Its a great class and full of energy! We are extending our evening Mysore classes to 4 nights a week through until December. Wednesday evenings will commence on Wednesday, the 25th September, 5-7pm.

Evenings will then be Monday- Thursday except on moon days.

From December we will have a slightly reduced programme over the holiday season as Carli and Melissa have other commitments.

Our next Intro to Mysore style course begins on Thursday, September 19th. There will be 2 led through class to begin the course:
Thursday September 19, 5.15-6.15pm
Saturday September 21, 11.30am-12.30pm
 
Following this, and included in the course, will be 4 weeks of Mysore style classes and a weekly led through and check in class on Thursdays at 5.15pm.
Bookings are now open for anyone who would like to attend. The Intro course is perfect for anyone completely new to either ashtanga yoga or Mysore style, as well as anyone returning to practice after a break.
